Main line steam tours always add something different to the railway scene and bring out fotters in their droves regardless of the weather conditions. These are some of the tours that I've managed to capture during the last couple of years. The vast majority have been taken in the southern part of Scotland with one or two further afield.
Britain's newest steam locomotive 60163 "TORNADO" is seen rounding the curve at Houndwood with the 1Z21 York - Edinburgh on 28th February 2009. This was the loco's first trip to Scotland and as such there were large numbers of 'fotters' lineside to record the occasion, including fellow Scot-rail member Gav who can be seen to the left of the loco in the background. Being somewhere around 20st he was sadly too fat to negociate the stream and had to make do with a video from the dull side of the line. ISO 200 1/500 F6.3
